Hello My Name is Franswiggdy and I'm a Counter Strikeoholic

Wow! Hard for me to believe its been over 3 weeks since I last posted. I have been roped into the whole online addiction thing. It seems I have replaced drinking with gaming. Maybe one day my parents will find me locked in my room slumped over my keyboard with the sounds of CS blasting away in the background, when a voice comes over the mic and says "pwned you!" Another scenerio could go something like this http://www.pwned.nl/. Thats so true it cracks me up!

Three weeks of saturation in the online gaming community I have picked up the lingo rather fast. Let me just say, having never experienced online chat rooms, makes deciphering abbreviated text quite a chore. I don't want to look like a nub for asking wtf does rolf stand for, just so someone can reply with stfu! Get my drift? I don't even want to go into the words containing numbers and symbols, which my brother Jon tells me is known as l33t speak in the computer geek world.

I've been playing pretty consistently (6 hours a day/7 days a week) on this server called When Darkness Falls IP 70.84.59.100:27015. Its a 24/7 custom map server which rocks because it also supports about 44 players, and I get an awping of 40. In my mind the more players the better. If you got CS:Source I suggest you check it out, the maps there are custom and you won't find them on other servers. Come on, you know your tired of playn Dust 1 and 2 ,and assault office! I must worn you though, the admins are total dicks and they mess with the server on a consistent basis. Once, an admin thought it would be funny to swipe all the other players keyboard control's! What an asshat! The Admins don't even follow their own rule cheating on a consistent basis and using racial slurs and obscene porno sprays. Admins aside a lot of fun can be had on this server, and its also almost always full. Even in the wee hours of the morning when I do all my playing. It seems once you have a fav server you always come back. Many of the players there show up around the same time everyday. So a consistent crowd, but Just because you play with them all the time doesn't mean their friendly, its almost always the opposite.

Huh, I mentioned fun in the above? What is fun about CS? Its hard to really explain if you haven't played it. If I describe it, it sounds repetitive and boring. Whats fun about two teams that attack eachother in 3 minute rounds, and repeat this a million times? Well, I almost always get a good laugh from some of my fello players comments. I get a tad bit of social interaction in during the hours when the rest of the world is sleeping.
Talking to the guy who works at the gass station when I go buy my cigarettes around 3 AM doesn't count as interaction. Hes quite the odd fello, and I intend to do a post on him. Oh ya and most important of all why CS is fun; it keeps my mind off of my otherwise mundane boring and thoroughly pointless existence to date. The reason I say to date is, well my life may have some sort of meaning or importance in the future, but for now a little distraction from the lack there of is fun!

Due to the pricks at Sierra, as a Mac owner I was never able to get in on the Half-Life->Counterstrike movement. Instead I just act as if it doesn't exist.
